un regalo cucito: Porta ferri da maglia in stoffa - Knitting needles case

Ho un bel lavorino/progettino da condividere con voi stasera...
Il tutto è nato dalla necessità di confezionare un regalo per il compleanno di mia sorella Noli... un regalo speciale ma soprattutto utile e veloce da farsi :) Devo dire che sono rimasta molto soddisfatta del risultato !
Mi sono divertita molto a realizzarlo e, nonostante fossi a casa da sola coi bambini (panico), sono riuscita a completare il tutto in un giorno


 I have a very nice project to share with you all this evening,,, It al started from the need to make a gift for my sisters birthday. I wanted to give her something SPECIAL, HANDMADE, but most of all useful and (given the time I have) QUICK to make !! I have to say im very satisfied with the result!
I had lots of fun making it and even though I was home alon with my two babies (panic!!) I managed to sew it in one morning

I passaggi sono spiegati chiaramente (in inglese) quindi può essere un oggetto realizzabile anche da chi è alle prime armi (come me/noi)...
The tutorial to make the needle wrap is very well done .Every passage is explained clearly so Its a good project ever for beginners  (like myself)
 
L'unica modifica da farsi rispetto alle istruzioni di Loulabelle riguarda le dimensioni dell'altezza del porta ferri.... e ahimè lo dico per esperienza :( mi sono ritrovata con un porta ferri dove i ferri non entravano .....
ora spiego: i ferri inglesi e americani da quanto mi è parso di capire misurano intorno ai 36 cm .... i ferri che si acquistano in Italia sono generalmente lunghi 40 cm..... Il modello del porta ferri in questione è di 38 cm.... quindi troppo basso per i ferri che ha mia sorella.... :( io (genio) non avevo provato ad inserirli prima di completare le cuciture................. che tristezza
comunque mi sono salvata coi ferri della nonna (americana) e ho rimediato all'errore regalando a Noli un po dei miei ferri USA di 36 cm che stanno nel porta ferri alla perfezione!!

There is only one thing to notice about Loulabelle's istructions -- notice please the dimentions of the hight of the wrap... oh well I speak by experience as I had a little problem :( I found myself with a bag where my needles didn't acTually fit!!  So here's the thing: in my INexperience i think i understand that english/usa knitting needles are about 36cm long... here in Italy the standard needles you buy measure 40cm!!!!! the pattern makes a bag 38cm tall..... SO not tall enough for mysisters knitting needles....................................... how sad 
(genius me) I dont know why I didnt try putting my needles in the bag before  finishing  the sewing
Anyway I managed to save the day by giving my sister some of my own needles that were passed down from my uas grandmother , thant fit perfectly!

Queste sono le stoffe che ho scelto:
This is the fabric I chose
 

-la stoffa base è di un cotone/canapa grezzo abbastanza spesso ; le taschine sono di cotone e l'imbottitura è una flanella di cotone meravigliosa della mia bisnonna!
-the background fabric is a quite thick cotton; the pockets are in a cotton fabric and the batting is a flannel scrap of my great-grandmother! 

-ho aggiunto i bordini alle tasche con un avanzo di nastro di cotone rosso...
-I  added the borders
 

-ho cucito verticalmente le tasche per inserire i ferri (mi devo sempre ricordare di metter gli spilli con la punta verso l'ago della macchina.... puntualmente mi confondo.. sbaglio e, o mi buco un dito, o mi si incastra lo spillo nel piedino ............)

-i sewed vertically the slots for the needles (i have to remember to put the s with the head facing downwards---- i ALWAYS mix up... get it wrong and the either poke my finger or get the pin stuck in the foot of the machine...)

 

-ho aggiunto l' imbottitura ed il nastro
-i added the batting and the ribbon
